I have cried and wept openly exactly once in my 13 years as a Lightning fan and it was the day Mr. Vinik came on for his first press conference after having bought the team. I couldn't hold back the tears of joy because I knew in my heart we had just gotten the best owner in all of North American professional sports. I tried my best but I just couldn't hold myself together. Mr. Vinik has already done so much in such a short period of time and he's not even finished. He's going to have a street, bridge school or hospital named after him one of these days.

And seeing a letter like that makes me proud to be a Lightning fan.
