Is it possible to be worse than episode 1 and 2?
Three wasn’t horrible , not great but the phantom menace and attack of the clones were so bad
The acting was just brutal. There’s porn actors that coulda done a better job playing Anakin than Hayden Christensen.

ROTS is one of my fav SW movies. Aside from the bad acting, the story itself was epic. The fight scenes were the best in the entire franchise. It's what I always wanted to see; the story of how the emperor was able to take control and purge the jedi. Being an emulation of the knights templar, it was just fitting to get a story that has connotations of the purge the Templars also went through.

He's waaaay too small to play Solo. He's about an inch higher than friggin John Snow (comparing with Clarke).

It was an okay action/scifi movie, but meh for a SW movie. People can **** on the prequel trilogy all they want, at least it was more entertaining than where Disney is taking the franchise.

I would be far more interested in a young Yoda movie that looks at the decline of the sith, 800 years before the original trilogy. Or even a Obiwan movie or Anakin movie set after ROTS.

Not really interested in RJohnson's outer rim/unknown regions-no Jedi/just force users movie.

It's funny cuz on the one hand, they're giving fans of the Legends books some of what we've been asking, by using some of the stuff in that expanded universe and re-cannonizing some of it in varied forms (Admiral Thrawn is in the new cannon books), but at the same time, they're veering off a bit too much and also at the same time, they're recycling old stuff like Solo.

The common theme though, seems to be to try to get away from the Jedis altogether, which is a mistake imo. There's something like 20 millenia of mythos to explore regarding the force and the jedis. They're highly mistaken if they think they can detach the jedis from SW.

There's a ray of hope for fans of the legends like me though. They've hired DB Weiss and that other writer from GOT to make another trilogy. Now that would fit well with a Knights of the old Republic or Golden age of the sith type movie, but aimed at the older generation of fans, something actually new; a R rated SW movie. Mix GOT and SW= Epic.
Yes it was an ok action film but it wasn’t necessary
Also this story should been how he screwed over Jabba not about some characters we never knew existed
I enjoyed the force awakens a lot !!
The last Jedi, Rian Johnson got to artsy with it
Went away from the force awakens
At least JJ Abrams is back for episode 9
Although not the greatest director , you know he will fix the mistakes of the last Jedi

It’s sure seems like another trilogy will be started
Disney pretty much announced that Episode 9 will end the Skywalker saga and its about time
As a huge Star Wars fan it’s sad but this needs to happen. Still pissed off how they killed off luke

I hope you’re right about the writers of the new trilogy. They Need to add some originality to the stories. They get stale after a while

Phantom was ok with me what I didn't like was the whole political part about it!!! Trade federation, Jedi council, the senate, Boss Nass lol but I agree with Clones I only saw that once and that's that same as Last Jedi saw it once and that's it as well!!! But like I said if they don't knock it out of the park with ep.9 it will rank as the worse trilogy for me but that's just my opinion.

I liked the political part. It gave dimension to Palpatine and imo, it was inevitable and unavoidable if one were to tell the story of how he took control of the galaxy and purge the jedi. There's no other logical story to make it stick.

It was my fave of the prequels by far
It brought everything together. So I did enjoy that
But the acting, even Sam Jackson was just bad.

There are two trilogy in the works, RJ's outer rim seems-like-an-idea-for-a-flop, and DB Weiss's other trilogy with little info.

That reminds me of when Ed Wood made a movie with Bela Lugosi of Dracula fame, Lugosi died during the filming. So the guy who did the makeup played him and because he was not a lookalike at all and taller he walked around with one arm hiding his face in the rest of the movie 3/4. These bad movies can be hilarious to watch at times.

Totally agree.

The bad acting is obvious.

When I was a kid and saw the original trilogy, the past it alluded to kept intriguing me more and more with every viewing and the prequel trilogy encompassed a lot of what I wanted to see. That part was highly satisfying for me, and it was a great part of what that trilogy was about.

Sure there are a lot of things that coul've been better done, still, I always like to re-watch the entire trilogy. I've probably seen them as many times as the originals by now.

Did you see Ed Wood with Johnny Depp?

The funny thing about the prequels hate is that a lot of what's hated about them can easily be applied to the originals as well. For how bad Christensen was in the prequels, Mark Hamill was a pretty shitty actor himself at the time, and it's not like he's a great one even today.

But the movies came out at very different times. I feel like the Disney versions managed to get these aspects mostly right, but the stories are so uninspired it ends up hurting the movie. I thought TFA was pretty good, aside from the mostly rehashed plot. I was willing to give them some leeway assuming it would be a building base for the trilogy, but TLJ was just one big mess. It might have nailed the basics, but it's still an awful movie as a whole.

And as a side note, I think we're really getting an over saturation of Star Wars products nowadays. I don't think it was wise to start throwing out spin offs before even concluding the new trilogy. The hype for TLJ wasn't anywhere close to TFA's, and given how nobody seems to care about Solo (rightfully so), it might not bode very well for the future.

Star Wars is a billion dollar cash cow and Disney are milking it for everything it's worth.

All of the SW movies outside of the originial trilogy have been terrible except for Rogue One which was actually pretty decent.

Revenge of the Sith was good
Force awakens was terrific.
Rogue one did nothing for me until Vader went ape shit and started killing everyone. That was classic Vader

I never hated the Star Wars prequels myself. I can understand the criticisms, but one can put any movie under a fine toothed comb, they also miss out on what the prequels did well.

Of the new Disney movies, I loved Rogue One, I found TFA and TLJ to be merely adequate. I haven't seen Solo yet.

Watched A quiet place.

Very interesting premise, but it was just so incredibly poorly executed. Waste of potential, in my opinion. I'm a bit stunned by how well received the movie seemed to be. There was so many things that just left me scratching my head that it ended up taking me away from the kind of intimate horror/thriller it was meant to be. You just end up wondering to yourself about plothole X, and the next thing you know you're wondering about plothole Y a whole 5 minutes after that, so on and so forth.

I'm typically not that picky on that sort of things, but it really goes hand in hand with my expectations, and I definitely expected more out of this one.

The originals are classics... But I don't think they're very good movies either.

I agree. Nostalgia has made them better than in reality.

Aside from Ford, acting sucked. Thus the reason why Ford lived out of the Star Wars cult to even bigger things.

It is fascinating to see the SW universe outlive its original fans.
