Yes. I liked it, but its not amazing. Pretty lenghty first half and the story goes too fast to be compelling. Maybe part 2 will be better.

The constant jumping between 1930 and present is a little bit annoying in that serie.

Finally got around to watching Tenet. Wtf did I just watch?

After the Batman trilogy it seems Nolan’s goal is to try and outsmart everyone, including his audience. He gets caught up in his own premises and science and forgets about plot and character likability. While I enjoyed Inception and especially Interstellar, this one was really meh.

The more recent one that happens to be the best Bond movie of all time IMO. ;)

P.S. Ended up re-watching all four Craig's 007 films over the past few days.

Bond films are amusing and entertaining if looking past the absurdity of it all and actually prefer ''on her majesty secret service''. Prefer Connery over the lot of them and some do the role no justice at all to the franchise. But hey,to each their own.

He's a pretty damn poor writer but he's a solid technician. He also suffers from a major case of cleveritis, leaving him thus beloved and bloated by mainstream audiences but not taken very seriously by a lot of people. Like, go back to TDK and the entire thing is extremely cringy but somewhat saved by a great performance from Ledger. Sorkin is the worst best example of that sort of thing. He's even worse than Nolan and far less talented.

Not a coincidence that his best movie Memento was written by his brother and not him.

As for Sorkin, I agree there. I enjoyed the West Wing, but he’s so far up his own butt at this point that he doesn’t seem to realize he’s growing stale. Trial of the Chicago 7 was fine but that ending? Omg cringe. It falls flat because he decided to direct it himself. Social Network was great because of Fincher and Reznor’s score.

Yeah, the Craig Casino Royale is easily my favorite Bond flick, and I’m old enough to remember Connery on VHS and Moore in theatres.

While Casino Royale was my favorite, I thought Skyfall was a superiorly made film. I didn’t really enjoy Quantum or Spectre.

Yeah, wasn't a fan either...good premise, meh product for the basically the reasons you highlighted...

...just watched Army of the Dead and I gotta say I enjoyed it thoroughly, Snyder's return to the genre is a fun one...mostly predictable for the genre but a few surprises and leaves the door open...a prequel is already in the works (shooting was finished in December)...was where the original Resident Evil film could have gone with the material in a basic premise-wise way and more enjoyable to boot...and I gotta say I enjoy Dave Bautista's acting; he has some chops for the business both as an "Action Hero" type and comedic value...

Love Craig's Casino Royale, definitely one of my favorites of the bunch. It hits pretty much all the right notes for a Bond flick.

Even the casting for main character was weak. Washington does not have the presence to carry this kind of movie. But even better casting couldn't save this film.

Yeah I didn’t want to rag on him too much but he seems like the perfect example of industry nepotism.

What helped Inception and Interstellar, apart from not being as convoluted, is they both had leads that can carry movies and make them good on their own.

Washington doesn’t nearly have the same charisma as his father. Branagh was brilliant though.

Casino Royale and Goldeneye are my favs, coincidentally both directed by the same man Martin Campbell (he did that cool zorro too lol)

Sam Mendes crushed it with Skyfall tho, and the character needed it as they finally ran out of books after Casino Royale (which was the 1st book amazingly) and Quantum of Solace was the first non book movie and it just...wasnt great
Without Ian Flemings books most of these james bond movies are going to be hit or miss unfortunately

Quantum of Solace is basically just a continuation of Casino Royale. It’s really weird as a stand-alone Bond film. It came out during the Writer’s Strike and it shows (short film, half-assed eco-terrorism plot). The editing was horrendous too in the first chase scene. Not sure how it wasn’t reshot or recut.

I found this old UK series: The Gods of Snooker. There's great footage and behind the scenes stories, I saw Cliff Thorburn, Canada's only world champion.

Yeah, its definitely Casino Royale's underwhelming direct sequel lol, basically bond going after the people who killed his girl

For sure Quantum wasn't the greatest. But one thing I like was that opera scene when bond shows up. That was well made with the score. But ya the plot was weak with eco thing.

Peter Sellers...

I don'T think he was talking about that one!
... Casino '67 looks like a bad acid trip, seriously. That's bound to happen when you shoot with 5 directors, a few of them not even being aware of what the others did and/or were doing.
