Honestly, such a young team would have "consistency" issues.

You could be the "failure" calgary flames of this season
OR
You could be the "Successful" calgary flames from last season.

Who knows.

If players play even at their minimal expectations, we are better than Toronto still.

Hank isn't done but I think he needs to play a reduced role on the ice just for the sake of his preservation. This young group needs a few veteran leaders to guide them because we don't want an Edmonton situation to develop.

With Pavel (potentially) leaving, I think the idea of giving the young players more of an important role is the only way to know what you've got with these guys. If you keep them in reduced roles and not put any pressure on them, you don't know if they will rise when called on. You can't shelter young players forever because you won't have these veterans forever.

Perhaps we should try to sign Jamie McGinn this offseason instead of Steven Stamkos. Both will make our team better.

Are you saying McGinn would make us better than Stamkos would? Or are you just setting up a ridiculous strawman?
