Good poll-I'm a penguins fan and it's really close, but I take Howe/Ovechkin here. Some of the takes in this thread are downright terrible.

I'll take your question as Crosby/Lemieux have a 10% chance of missing any given game (playoffs included) due to injury. Because just missing 10 regular season games a year...who cares? That literally doesn't matter all.

So interpreting your question that way, Howe/Ovechkin.

Howe/Ovechkin--Lemieux/Crosby

Hart: 9--5
Finalist: 17--14
Top 10: 28--18
Lindsay: 3--7 (not awarded during Howe's career)
Smythe: 1--3 (1st awarded when Howe was 37 years old)
Calder: 1--1

Ross: 7--8
Top 10 pts: 29--21
PPG leader: 10--12
Top 10 PPG: 28--24

Rocket: 14--5
Top 10 goals: 32--13
GPG leader: 12--8
Top 10 GPG: 32--15

AST: 33--17
Awards: 35--29 (even though Lindsay and smythe weren't available to Howe)

Pretty clearly Howe and OV. But as usual, the disrespect for Howe is unreal.

Howe's career shits on Lemieux's.

Not really. But the main argument would be his longevity and health if you take that stance and this poll is essentially removing that from the equation.

Given the hypothetical of Lemieux playing 72 games and Crosby playing 72 games every season in their first 10 years we are looking at close to a combined 15 years of leading the league in scoring.

Depends how you interpret the question. Do you know when they are going to miss these games? Is it random? Does it happen in playoffs?

On the other hand are Ovechkin and Howe just literally bullet proof? Assuming it’s impossible for them to miss a game, they must never get injured? Never getting injured is an enormous playoff advantage, even if those avoided injuries could be ‘played’ through it means you have both those guys perfectly healthy for the entire playoffs.
