What a mistake it was getting rid of Martin.. A preseason game and guys are trying to fight Kadri, Dermott and serionsly Conner Brown. Its only preseason, I wonder who people will try to fight next game Marner? Oh yeah they can take cheap shots because we will just score.. Well scoring makes it worse when its 6-2. Dumb trade moving Martin with a team that can run up the score like this

It's hard for him to fight from the press-box.
Whose spot is he honestly going to take?

I think the Leafs' lineup is starting to take shape and looks pretty good, even without you-know-who.

People have this weird obsession towards Leivo. Just waiting for something to cheer about and when he does something good, well, that's that, he's turned it around. Meanwhile, other better players know that consistency is what it takes to stick in the NHL. Leivo hasn't really shown that which is why he's not consistently in a NHL line up. He's a dime a dozen player that a bunch of Leaf fans latched on to. It's a tradition here. It seems like there's one player who can occassionally have a great game or three and you will get post after post about why they should be in the lineup over someone else. The all have one thing in common.. they are usually totally replaceable and then they are when the new flavour gets drafted.

But its not consistency that's kept Leivo off the ice. Its been the roles Babcock has decided his forward squad needs. Leivo isn't a PKer and he isn't a center. He's not as good as Nylander or Marner. He isn't a hall of famer like Marleau or a tip in specialist like JvR. The numbers game is what has kept him off the ice. We've had players who were plenty inconsistent but were put on the ice because they had a special role to play. Them's the brakes. This year he gets his opportunity to finally put in a full season because spots have opened up that he can fill. What shakes out shakes out.

No one is going to pick up Gauthier on waivers. I'd personally prefer Cracknell in the pb, who's shown a lot more effort than the Goat as thus far.

This is a very important point made here again.... remember this man's words and letters. He did that. Yeah, he did that. We need a guy who can protect Marna, Andersen and Matthews. We ain't got that right now, because Kadri can't fight against Lucic, Reaves, Martin, or Byfuglien for example. There are others as well. Many many others. But yeah, we have some cool hit staff in hyman, kadri and kapanen. But that dirt ain't enough. It will be an issue and I am a bit surprised Nonis I mean Dubas didn't get us a guy like Lucic, Reaves, Ritchie, Simmonds, Jenner or some otha sucka fool. But yeah, wee need that one stiff dork who just stands there with his mouth wide open to take it. These guys can play, and take the hit and then come back with a motherf gun. Or a knife. You you come back with a fist, we come out with a knife. If y'all is coming with knives, we come back with money and guns. Remember that. *sun zu, art of war* macchiavelli* Too. Point.

I honestly don’t know what they do now. Leivo looked really good, used his size. Even Brown had a jump to his step. Johnsson has been the most underwhelming player on the team.

Zaitsev is quietly having himself quite a pre-season.

I think he's going to bounce back this season. Last season he did have that injury, and that weird stomach flu. If it was the same one I had, holy crap does it suck. The pain was non-stop for about 3 days. When I tried sipping water, it hurt bad once it hit my stomach. If I tried drinking more than a sip, I threw it up. Not to mention the bloating. Walking to the bathroom to piss, it felt like a tumor was hanging off my stomach, it was so bloated. Fortunately someone online mentioned to drink some aloe vera. So I found a bottle of some Aloe Vera Drink at the supermarket, and things really started to turn around for me after. I lost close to 10 lbs. after a week of dealing with that.

Being sidelined without being able to work out for that long is going to hurt a player's play. That's why they say, have a good off season. Because once the season starts, there's no room for physical improvement. It's all about maintenance. If you're sidelined for an extended period of time, you fall behind.

[The Best Leafs Ever]

I gave up on the NHL package because it's useless to me. I don't mind paying but I need to get something useful back in return.

Last year Rogers even blacked out the CBC Saturday night HNIC over the internet on me because I only have the basic cable package. So, while my wife and daughters were upstairs watching girl stuff on the big tv I couldnt even stream the CBC feed that we pay for with our taxes on Rogers internet.

Screw it. I learned how to watch all the Leafs I like without paying a cent, and I don't even see their inane commercials.

It's rather amazing that Rogers and NHL CentreIce can alienate paying customers like you and me. We're both willing to pay, and they still treat us like ****.

This is the exact reason I am not having a cable or paying for the subscriptions anymore. The most annoying blackout thing is the worst on NHL.com and I highly recommend not using/buying/paying for subscriptions over there.

I have also found a good source and that lets me watch all the games for free. I also have iptv at home so when I am home I am getting all the live sports for absolutely free, all I pay for is about 15 bucks a month and I get over a thousand channels for free and even the pay per views are also absolutely free.

Not sure why anyone needs gigabit internet without a server. A bit of overkill. I grab tons of data through my 50MPS line while streaming HD all while the xbox one is fired up and being played on line by someone. I'm more concerned about my wireless router and it is a UHD capable 3 channel device that I get 4 bars on more than a block away from my house.

I've watched every pre season game this year so far. I can honestly say IggyOz has played the exact way we wanted and need from him. I love the fact he effortlessly can get the puck up to our forwards sure his gap control and shot are still a work in progress but that will come with more time to get used to the tempo of the game. but he gets the puck and its up the ice 90% of the time for the most part. I think once he gets more accustomed to the pace he will start getting his shot off. it just seems like he's holding on to the puck instead of firing it when he should. again that will come once he gets comfortable with the pace.

But for those that are keeping score.

He doesn't ice the puck.
He makes a great first pass.
can skate well.
will not be pushed around
seems like he's getting more comfortable with his line mates with each game
and you can barely notice him for the most part.( which is a great thing for a stay at home defender)

we might have found a late blooming gem here.

as the game goes. it was fun non stop action a lil grenade action in the second period for a bit but after that it was just a onslaught, im actually starting to get curious what will happen once nylander gets signed. so many combos

on a side note. how the hell did naz and brown get tossed ? for defending themselves in a mugging?
