Bravo is the television network you'll want to subscribe to. Real Housewives, Selling Sunset, Kardiashians, all that drama stuff. Below Deck is probably the show that would appeal most to the average hockey viewer, so maybe start there and work your way up to the platinum tier drama shows.

Reducing the Calgary goal to Nylander not having his man is too simplistic, something else has to be pretty wrong for a winger to be the only guy defending net front. Yeah, you want him to identity Mangiapane a second earlier than he does, but it's a combination of errors that leads to the goal, not one mistake.
Yes, begs the question, where the heck were the defencemen?

In fact it's probably a better argument that willy almost bailed out his teammates from their blown coverages but just wasn't able to get there in time on a bang bang play off a bad turnover.

Nylander seems to thrive when he has open ice. Situations like 3 on 3 or 4 on 4. He's more of an east west type of player where the more bigger European size rinks benefits him.
NHL rink size playing 5 on 5 doesn't benefit him as much, force's him to play more of a North South type of game and kind of limits his abilities for his style of play.

Really happy hutch got the W yesterday. Tough spot for him to be in. Pre season he was 4th on the depth chart, and he has been asked to play in 3 of the last 5 games. He has been by no means perfect, but he looked really solid last night. He gave us a shot to win, which is all you can ask for from any goalie, let alone your 4th goalie. Thought Willy had a lot of jump last night, nice to see he had 6 SOG and was rewarded with the 2 goals. Need to see more efforts like this from him.

Yup. Also looks like Hutch went down a little early giving Magiapane too much of the net to shoot at. Probably his only mistake of the game.

Nice to see Hutch not giving up so many rebounds and seemingly positioned better in general. Last year pucks would just bounce off of him directly to a player in the slot every shot.

I think if Willy shot the puck more he would do much better in all situations. Time and time again he has beaten dmen on the wings with his speed only to want to curl back and feed the slot or point every time. Fire the puck on the net. He's a pass first player, and sometimes shooting on net causes more chances then that pass back to the point or into a congested slot area.

Big Save Dave kept Flames in a game they had no business being in ... between Mik, JT, Matty and then Barabanov OMG was he lucky or is he lucky? ... but there goes Willy right on plan ... this is why I stated yesterday you don't trade him ... he showed some piss and vinegar on goal 1 and goal 2 we only got 1 guy on team who has all da skills to make that play (blow by speed, stickhandling skills, hand eye and soft hands to go where mom stores da peanut butter) and it is Willy ... no one else - not Matty (does not have blow by speed), not Mitch (does not have blow by speed) or JT (does not have blow by speed) makes that play ... he got us 2 points where ZERO was occuring ... now we need him to keep it going in Edmonton where they have no defense so he should be able to run it up a bit there

I used to buy the Willy is a perimeter player stuff until I watched him playing in the WHC for Sweden and running over people cutting to the net on the big ice surface. With Willy I always think it's motivation. When he's on, I think he's really good. But when you see him doing a line change in OT like he doesn't have a care in the world, which is bad 5 on 5, but absolutely killer in OT when every second you take gives the other team a 3 on 2, yeah he does that too often.

Couldn't agree more with those lines.

I am assuming that barring everyone being healthy when Simmonds returns that you'd pick Barabanov as the odd man out?

Yes, definitely. I'd slide Engvall up to the 4th line and depending on the opponet, rotate Boyd and Barabanov

Flames fans, I understand your frustration and wish your coach challenged for interference. As your poll suggests, the majority thinks Ward not challenging is probably a good decision.

Habs fans, no Hyman did not spin Rittich like a top.

Lots of errors but mostly Holl ... terrible pass .. then he left front of net to chase puck ... again it is defender 101 skills ... you don't go in same corner as your partner to hunt da puck ... that is da centres job (where was JT???? this is where slowness comes into play) ... but he is still learning too ... and Willy saw this all play out so he should have stuck to open man at net instead of backing away ... even if puck goes back to point much harder to score from there ... but Willy is not a great defender and it showed ... but it was a few team mistakes ... easily coached out and explained

Leaf fans dont hate him .

This is all we ask of him fight for the puck and go to the net .

That is what he did last yr . not this yr.

We need him and JT if we are going to go far in the playoffs
So many people clearly do hate him, you clearly do if you honestly think he hasn't been fighting for pucks or going to the net all year. You're allowing that hate to colour your opinion of the way he plays. He's had a couple games and shifts where he's made lazy plays but for the vast majority of his TOI this year he's been a buzzsaw out there. Not his fault all his hard work dies on his linemates' sticks.

That was on Dermott 100%, he chickened out going after the puck along the boards, he went for it and then pulled back when their D man came down the boards (looked like he was scared to take the hit to make a play) ended up in no mans land. Didn't get the puck, puck carrier or the guy in front of the net. I screamed NO so loud  the moment I saw him take that half step and then pull back, you gotta either commit to the puck there or cover the pass, he did neither.

Hyman does a great job to not interfere there

Tavares is on the bench there chief, Engvall is the C and is the one who screws up coverage. He has Mangia then leaves him to pursue a covered Manning the corner after Dermott was slow to react to the breakout.

Pretty nice to see Willy battle in front of the net for that puck on the tying goal. Digging at it and just trying to get anything on net.

Got the greasy one, and that usually can pave the way for the pretty stuff to come through. Hope that GWG ignites his confidence and he gets rolling. If Willy can pick his play up, he can help elevate JT back into an offensive groove.

Tavares is just snakebitten. He's being getting some quality chances each game but just can't seem to convert. That's evidently getting into his head in other areas on the ice when he's trying to make a play to get some offense going.

Great catch just watched highlight over again ... 2 defenders and centre all in corner together HAHAHAHAHA house league hockey ... Flames deserved to score ... but behind back no look pass by Holl to Flames and then 2nd mistake by getting tricked to leave net front ... anywho he is learning
