I haven't followed Toronto so what happened to Nylander? They mentioned something on the game last night. Is he hurt or he is holding out?

I would think Claude uses Kotkaniemi with Drouin and Armia to see how he stacks up against Matthews/Tavares.

I think Scherbak needs to play top-9 in that game to further his evaluation. A decision has to be made.

Peca should also see time in the top-9.

I would give Mete/Juulsen a ton of ice time to see how they do against NHLers.

I liked the Habs lines at practice today:

Drouin - Domi - Armia
Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
Byron - Kotkaniemi - Lehkonen
Hudon - Plekanec - Scherbak

Peca had a therapy day. But I would easily put him as 4C between Hudon and Scherbak.

They had the extra line of Agostino - DLR - Chaput. I think both Agostino and Chaput will get cut by the end and Habs will carry 14 forwards.

Defensive pairings were:

Reilly - Petry
Mete - Juulsen
Benn - Schlemko
Alzner - Després

Ouellet as the extra.

Great forwards but they still have a lot of holes on defence and goaltending could be an issue. They might beat us but they won't be contenders.

Lately, having a terrifying centerline has been enough to overcome average talent at defense and net. Toronto has a legit claim to be a contender, there's not many teams with better looking rosters.

I don't like Domi at center. And, I don't like Armia on the first line.

When looking at their forwards and d I make the same face but for different reasons.

Though, I mean Pittsburgh's d was pretty bad when they won the cup not too long ago with letang out.

So I understood they don't keep points in the preseason but would there be anywhere to be listed? Who is keeping points throughout preseason besides NHL?

That D is god awful from Toronto , no ways they will ever win a cup with that D
No need to look further than Pittsburgh's and Vegas' SCF defences. Adding Tavares makes others expendable for a future D acquisition though.
