As far as I concern PO starts now. This is free game for us and Habs did not clinch yet. They cannot afford to retaliate too much. I say hit CC, Tiffoli and Romanov if you find them close to boards. Let's give them some bruises ahead of PO match up.

It's not clear yet who we will face in the 1st round, but win tomorrow night and it's almost certain to be MTL.

    Make it so number one!

What does Hutton going in for Sandin have to do with the cap?

Nothing at this point. Likely just trying to get everyone up to speed down the final stretch in case we need them.

That’s what I thought but Keefe said it’s cap related. I thought both players were already on the cap?

Someone who knows more about the cap can go into detail.

Didn't catch Keefe's statements. Only thing I can think of is that Sandin was up on emergency loan, maybe that's expiring. If he stays perhaps it becomes a regular recall. We have 2 regular recalls available from the TDL that we can use to recall guys when not under "emergency conditions".

Apparently Foligno skated on his own. So whatever it is, he can still skate.

Whenever I don’t want to explain myself to my wife (who is severely technically challenged) I just mumble something about the internet, she just glazes over, same thing here with Keefe and the cap. I just kind of glaze over and accept it.

Maybe pre-emptive in that it gives the flexibility to get Nash and/or Andersen a game before the playoffs begin?

They wouldnt have to pre emptively demote him. They could just demote him before the game that one of the otherw comes back

A few more milestones to look out for tomorrow after Matthews' 40th goal.

    - Marner is three assists away from 50
    - Marner is one goal away from 20
    - Tavares is two goals away from 20

Sandin likely won’t see another game until the playoffs. This cap moves allows leafs to activate Nash off injury reserve, so it looks like they expect him to be ready soon and want to see him before the playoffs.

Lots of good reads in the link, including Marner’s Joe Dirt look.

Why Sandin won't play another game for Maple Leafs this regular season

Crazy that Marner and JT are both having pretty good goal scoring seasons, and both have less than half as many goals as AM.

Leafs/Habs Saturday night! Gotta love it

Getting excited for the playoffs now. Really hoping to see the entire team healthy to see what they can do!

I'm pretty sure that the cap rules are way over our heads. They don't hire full time pros to make these decisions for nothin.

Playing Hutton is fine, Sandin had a rough game last time out.

Our depth is awesome. We have 9 guys I would have no problem playing in a playoff game if need be and then even if disaster hits you have specialists in Rosen/Marincin that you can shelter depending on who goes down.
