Leafs fans: "This team is a bunch of pansies. They act like the series is already lost."
Also Leafs fans: "Bruins in 3 "

Sure, none of it means anything when the puck is dropped for game 1. Still, you'd prefer the team to look like they're ready for the playoffs during the last few games of the season as opposed to the shit show our guys have put on.I don't think the last few games mean much of anything. Boston lost to Ottawa and has hardly been impressive over the last few months either. It's a funny thing, but I bet most Bruins fans will pick the Leafs to win this series. Outside of Washington or the Islanders, both of whom should be dispatched pretty quickly in the first round, Boston or Tampa would have been the best match-up for the Leafs. Boston is very weak down the middle, and their goalies are noticeably worse in the playoffs. I don't see why this year will be any different for them.
Neither Boston goalie has ever performed well in the playoffs. Of course, those could have been specific circumstances with all kinds of reasons unique to those situations, but for now there is nothing to suggest that they will elevate their play in the playoffs. I think goaltending will be a wash. Ultimately, I think the Leafs' offense will win this series.Sure, none of it means anything when the puck is dropped for game 1. Not sure why you think most Bruins fans would pick the Leafs to win the series, I'm skeptical.
Your comment that "their goalies are noticeably worse in the playoffs" is also quite strange. You don't think the last few games mean much of anything, but the handful of playoff games played by their goalies in previous years is meaningful? You're a homer and that's fine, so am I to a certain extent but let's not get carried away BS'ing ourselves.
Like I said, the sample size is so small that counting on this is foolish.Neither Boston goalie has ever performed well in the playoffs. I think that was a guarantee vs FLA.yes 8PM
I think that was a guarantee vs FLA.
Based on my tv guide I see the following:
SAT 5pm
SAT 8pm
SUN 1230pm
SUN 3pm
SUN 8pm
It may not play out that way, but BOS prob doesn't want a Saturday night game at home. I bet they have their eyes on the 1230pm start on Sunday.
Yes, forgot the NBA existed... they do indeed, so Saturday most likely then.Celtics start on Sunday, no?
It's not counting on it. It's more that for now there isn't evidence to suggest that Boston has some monumental goaltending advantage. I think it's basically just a wash.Like I said, the sample size is so small that counting on this is foolish.
No kidding. After this long of a rebuild and people have to keep saying ok if this team can win and this team can do that and these guys can beat each other up, we may have some kind of chance.
You have to win 4 rounds. Who cares what the rest do. We have trouble winning 1 round. We should be good enough now to beat anyone in 7 by now.
Boston has the reigning Vezina winner who's likely their back-up, meaning they have another goalie better than him, and you think up against the Leafs bargain bin goalies it's a wash? It's not counting on it. It's more that for now there isn't evidence to suggest that Boston has some monumental goaltending advantage. I think it's basically just a wash.
They have home ice and should be favourites:There are 4 good to very good teams in the Atlantic and have been for a while. This isn’t news to anyone. We don’t need to “somehow” get past Boston. Perfectly capable of beating any team in the division in a 7 game series. And Boston being ahead of us (marginally I might add) in the regular season standings doesn’t make them favorites.
We've been waiting on that if for 7 years now...Throw the last few games out the window, and don’t really care they were 0-4 against Boston this season.
If Matthews/Marner and Nylander all show up, they can beat any team.
They have home ice and should be favourites:
Sportsbooks have the Bruins as the favorites to win the series.
- Bruins to win the series: -125
- Leafs to win the series: +105
lol, me too. I just feel different about this version. We've been waiting on that if for 7 years now...
No, how the playoffs go will decide if we're worst than last year. We're also worse than last year, especially at this point given the additions last year.
