Speculation: Leafs rushed the rebuild

We should have let Auston proves himself in the AHL before jumping right into the NHL, let Marner stays in CHL for one more year in order to see if his draft +1 season was a fluke. Let Willie and Hyman plays with Auston in AHL to build their chemistry.
Should bring Zai, Rosen, Oz and Borgman over just to see if they can play in the NHL.
They should have draft and wait for Woll and Scott or dare I say draft Hart to be our Goalie instead of trading for Andersen. Drafting Sam Steele instead. Also will not be trading for Boyle at TDL thus saving the 2nd rounder.
That way Leafs will have another lottery pick hopefully netting Petersson at no 4 or 5 in Auston draft +1 season. Ofcourse never signing Marleau and Hanisey but a few UFAs on one year deal inorder to flip them for picks at TDL. Also trading away Bozak and JVR before they walk for nothing. While continue to make sure Marner, Auston and Willie never pass the 10 games mark in Auston draft +2 season in order to tank again and try for Dahlin. Also saving the 2nd rounder due to no rental on Turtleneck. Also trade away Polak to the Sharks for another 2nd.
After drafting Dahlin, and then signing JT on July 1st. Dubas also traded Marincin for Billington. Trade Jake and some of the picks from JVR and Bozak for Trouba. Leafs will then promote the rest of the kids from Marlies to form the following lineup on opening day,

Dubas also managed to lure MacKinnon, Hall, McDavid and Drai to sign for the team for 1mil/yr to form a True Super team in Hockey for all those Cup winning years.

Pretty sure even if that happened some of Leafsnation will still complain about the lack of grit, Babs coaching and whatever bc the team still lose a game here and there and the score line was not 8-0 every game.

the issue is not pixel uploads, but for are Matthews a good additional to the team, yet Marners is very close to his heels, and should perhaps earn dollars in same categories as Austins paycheques

Funny thing is if you actually look back at posts right after Leafs won the lottery. Beside the Laine is better bc he reminded a scout or pundit about Mario.... some did suggested that let’s have Auston plays in the AHL first before handing him a spot on the Leafs. Ofcourse those comments died down after his first game in the so called World Cup of Hockey. And I am not kidding you about that.

Not even close. There's no "proper" amount of time for a rebuild.

The hardest part of a rebuild is turning the pieces you’ve collected into a winning team (both season and especially playoffs).

Not every piece you draft will stay. And that includes the good ones. The team needs to be complete. Forward, D and quality depth.
You can’t just be heavy (or overspend) on one area.

We don't have a player that gets the hype. Or the amount of ice time. I think Matthews having a full season under his belt without a major lost time injury and that thinking changes.

The fatal flaw was the 'own rentals' of Bozak and JVR, Dubas could have cashed them in to get ammo for a 1D trade, instead we Muzzin is a low energy typical deal.

The difference you get in a package with two 1sts change is a lot more value then what you get with 1 and change.

Not at all we are still very young and proud to have players like Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Reilly and I am sure some of our prospects are going to turn to bonafide NHLers

All they need is a real coach who can guide them in the right direction and be creative and coach these offensive youngsters to play some defence
