He's a very solid 7th/8th option. Likes the city, doesn't complain when he's with the Marlies. There's nothing to complain about here but I know how this thread will go...

Absolutely nothing wrong with keeping Marty around on league min for him to play #7/8 and/or to shuttle back and forth.

Seems to fit well in the dressing room and has been nothing but accepting of his limited role, and in fact keeps coming back for more even though he knows the deal. Apparently sees Toronto as his home, and doesn't complain about his role.

When they sign Pietrangelo they're going to need 700k depth for the 7D. This is what league minimum buys you, a league minimum skill level player.

He's not an NHL regular thats for sure but as an AHL 1D and a NHL 7D, what's not to like about this deal?

Marincin is a stud with the Marlies. He was good while called up to the NHL this year until the Edmonton and Winnipeg games. He was never going to be a superstar while replacing Muzzin's minutes/usage (dunno why it took Keefe so long to promote Dermott to that role), but he did his job properly (shocked me) and helped us on our huge winning streak.

He'll be especially important next year in the AHL when Sandin and Lilijegren get promoted.
