Seemed like a typical Leafs game against a good team. Play good enough to be close, not hard enough to win.

Need to break that habit, and a perfect opportunity on Saturday

I place this loss, as well as many upcoming losses this year largely on the coaching staff.

As we (and the entire league) know, backup goaltending is suspect on this team. So when that is the case you need to give your backup situations where they can succeed. Babcock is not doing that at all as seen by starting him against the Caps and not the Wild.

And thus, he gets no opportunity to develop any confidence whatsoever.

Pretty rough game. My biggest takeaway is that when you see two goals go in quickly, you see that they are surging, you see that we're starting to show weariness and momentum turning against us... how do you not call a timeout?
We already saw this play out in the Montreal and St Louis games, it's not something he'll entertain for whatever reason. What a series of frustrating losses we've had this year.
