What about also re-signing Phaneuf during that same time? Don't forget he could also become a UFA at the same time as Kessel and since he is the captain I would say he is just as important.

Yup, both Dion and Phil need to be re-upped, depending on his play if there is a shortened season I wouldn't mind them getting a jump start on Kulemin's extension, either.

I'd take the first week of free agency off from negotiations with Dion and Phil and focus on all the available talent from other teams. Once the crop dries up I'd spend the rest of the summer hammering out a deal. Then, if there is time before the season I'd try to get Kulemin locked up.

It is very important that Burke locks them up before the season starts.

HE seems to better with a trade than he does with FA.

Although with the undrafted ufa's he has hit a home run. Compared to any other GM.

Do the Anti - BUrke Crowd count this as a full season?
