Leafs Dead Last on Powerplay Opportunities over last 2 years.

Considering their power play is 24.2% at home and 32% on the road, that makes no sense. Going off % alone, they would score more than they currently score with more powerplay time.
It makes sense because they'd be on the PK 10+ times per game and give up goals against that way.

Only thing I can think of is the fact that our players don't dive or try to milk calls out of refs. Kadri used to flop around to draw penalties but he's grown out of it over the past few years. Teams also are smart enough to realise that they shouldn't be handing the Leafs PP opportunities for nothing and tend to be more careful to not take unnecessary penalties.
First part of your post is vrai, but you did well on the second part ;)

At HOME over the last two seasons.

1. Nashville - 212 opportunities
2. Tampa Bay - 202 opportunities
5. Winnipeg - 192 opportunities
8. Boston - 190 opportunities
10. Pittsburgh - 188 opportunities
12. Washington - 182 opportunities
30. Toronto - 161 opportunities

It seems like one of these are not like the other to me.

Teams that won a playoff series last year...so the Leafs?

Funny because every opposing fan always thinks the refs are incredibly biased in the Leafs favour.

You probably could have just written that every fan base thinks the refs are incredibly biased against their team without mentioning the Leafs.
Not surprised that many Leaf fans in this thread think the refs are out to get them. So does every other fan base.

Sort by TOI Ascending.......

TOR and PIT are last in PP TOI....it's probably a huge point of emphasis in the pre-scouts and pregame preps to stay out of the box when playing those guys given how lethal and dangerous their PP's are.
Most useless stat I have ever seen. PP success wipes out the toi. Good PP teams obviously have less toi than anemic PP teams like Montreal do. 30 second goal vs 2 minutes of futility.

Ducks and Red Wings have a lot more to complain about than the Leafs.

Are you really looking for some sort of stat or trying to make up some sort of conspiracy here? Just wondering.

that's a good point but probably overstated. PIT and TOR are also the bottom-2 teams in PPO in addition to PP TOI. as the season and sample size grows, I would think what you pointed out might be more evident.

Probably similar to Djurgården and their situation in Sweden. Both Toronto and Djurgården are the biggest and most famous hockey markets in respective country and fans of other teams are jealous and think they get every call with them. Hence it has become a thing among the referees to prove they are fair and don't give those teams(Toronto in this case) an advantage which instead has had the opposite effect

Ya but with the command centre being in Toronto, the centre of the hockey universe, everyone likes to complain that the refs favour the Leafs.
