Besides Mittelstadt, those two in ot will probably be pretty amazing in to compared to other nhl teams.

Boston Bruins - Pastrnak, Bergeron, McAvoy
Buffalo Sabres - Eichel, Dahlin, Mittel
Calgary Flames - J Hockey, Monahan, Hamilton
Carolina Hurricanes - Aho, Tera, Faulk
Chicago Blackhawks - Kane, Towes, Keith
Colorado Avalanche - MacKinnon, Rantanen, Barrie
Columbus Blue Jackets - Panarin, Wennberg, Jones
Dallas Stars - Seguin, Benn, Klingberg
Detroit Red Wings - ? ? ?
Edmonton Oilers - McDavid, Drai, Nurse

A flood of interviews have been coming trough these last days, and it strikes me that his English is so so but that aside his earnestness shines trough .. he just seems to be a nice guy.

I don't think he quite grasps what is going on. What does the group here think?

He knows what's going on, he's just really calm and believes in himself. He was the same way when he made his debut with Frölunda.

Well to be fair, 2 of em havnt proven anything yet ;)

I agree that it's strange to include Mittelstadt in that group since he still has a long way to go to hit his assumed potential, and it's nowhere near a sure thing that he even does. But it's very hard for me to not see Eichel-Dahlin as one of the most formidable PP duos in the league for the next decade or more. There are a lot of 30+ yr old guys on that list while they won't even hit their peak's for like a half decade.

I'd usually agree with you about not proving anything, but it's safe to start assuming things with Dahlin. And most people on that list will be in their sunset years by the time Dahlin reaches his peak at 26 or whatever.

In a few years, maybe, but not next season :)

Think you're underrating those 3 players quite a bit. Either way let us Buffalonian's have some fun! We've seen Larsson, Okposo, Pouliot, Kane (yes he was awful), Beaulieu , McCabe, and Josefson in OT! :help:
If "fun" is what you want, dont ever forget the glorious gift that Rebecka Black gave us all back in 2011. it's fun fun fun fun!

The '? ? ?' should just be Larkin. Wings don't even need anyone else out there. Three Dahlin's couldn't touch him.
Touch him as in the physical sense? I am pretty sure three Dahlins could corner Larkin and touch him if they lured him into a corner and held their arms straight out

He guested on Marek and Friedman's 31 Thoughts podcast. When asked where Dahlin would have gone in last year's draft. 'He'd be a top 3 or 4 guy for sure' WTF He said Dahlin would go behind Hischier and Patrick because of positional bias, then corrected himself and said Dahlin would probably go ahead of Patrick due to the injury thing with Patrick. He then compared Dahlin to Heiskanen and in his opinion Dahlin is as good as Heiskanen, not better, equals.

The rest of the hockey world is saying Dahlin is the best 18 year old defenseman in TWO generations, since Dennis Potvin in 1973.

Don’t you remember the two years of “lose again for Heiskanen” slogans?

Oh you know...about as good as a guy who produced half as much in a lesser league.

I’m a professional.

Well, Heiskanen is the best defender prospect out there currently (not counting Dahlin), so he can't be that far behind Dahlin as a prospect. After all, Dahlin is no second coming of Jesus.

Dahlin has the higher ceiling but Heiskanen showed some major improvements this year compared to last year's Heiskanen. It will be interesting to see how much better Dahlin can be one year from now. But right now when Heiskanen is 9 months older, he is definately equal to Dahlin but as we all know, a lot can happen in 9 months when player is as young as Dahlin.

I expect Dahlin to be better than Heiskanen in their prime but I feel like even then Heiskanen will not be that far away from him and that will probably surprise many who don't currently see Heiskanen close to Dahlin.

Sitting at a desk.
It's possible he just wasn't ready for the question and fumbled it. Also, not everyone thinks Dahlin is the player HFBoards think he is.

I mean he has handidly beaten Eichel and Matthews in 1v1 polls. The expectations are sky high.
