After taking December off to re-evaluate my rankings, I’m back with another top 160. I wanted to stretch this list to 200 (as I said in my last rankings) but I think I’m better off staying at 160 until I completely evaluate the remaining prospects

November rankings-Lays top 160 2019 draft rankings

I was really close to putting Kakko first if it means anything
The more I watch/learn this draft, it gets better and better. Some of those early 2nd rounders definitely deserve to be 1st rounders

And here’s some random notes/movement

1. Ville Heinola jumps from 49 to 22, this kid continues to impress me
2. Honka falls from 11 to 35, he’s struggled badly (especially defensively) in Mestis this season after a really hot start, disappointing year for him for sure, I once had him as my #1 dman for this class
3. Simon Holmstrom is falling quite a bit due to injuries, I really like Holmstrom and had him as high as 14th at one point, quite a few players have leapfrogged him do to his unfortunate/disappointing year
4. Jake Lee has fallen the most from the November rankings where he was ranked 25, now sits at 90. Him and Hamaliuk have dropped off considerably
5. I may/may not get shit for saying this but Dach is closer to Kakko than Podkolzin is to Dach. Dach has slowed down recently but I have no doubt in my mind at this point that he’ll be an elite center. Creates a ton and his tools have improved, just needs to work on his effort/urgency

  2. Kaapo Kakko
  3. Kirby Dach

Love it.

It’s been nice to see Cozens and Krebs really coming on strong after Dach appeared to pull away a lot at the start of the season. But you’ve proved that you’re more than a statwatcher by holding Dach steady. I have no flippin idea how his production has been turned upside down over the past month, as he still looks incredible and is working hard and creating every time he’s on the ice.
