Was initially going to wait until after WJC to post my next list but I feel there’s been so much movement for me that I should update it

Here’s my last list

*Goalies are not ranked

Some recent notes
1. If Dach had more hustle/effort he’d really push Kakko for my 2 spot. The top 3 are all very close, Dach is closer to Hughes than he is to Cozens imo
2. Yes I still have Honka and Newhook that high. I can understand people’s reasoning for dropping Honka but I think he’ll turn it around, kid has so much talent. Don’t really understand why Newhook’s dropping though as he’s looked good for me in recent viewings
3. I finally came around on Pelletier and realized I was being a bit harsh on him, kid has impressed me a lot lately
4. I don’t get why Brink is getting so hyped lately but Kallionkieli isn’t
5. The only rankings I’m not completely confident in is Hamaliuk, Kaliyev, and Gutik. I’ve just found it hard to rank them because they’ve been so up and down for me
6. Cole Schwindt, Harrison Blaisdell, and Luke Toporowski need some more love
7. Carter Berger is an overager in the BCHL who’s really impressed me, I’d be surprised if he went undrafted again but he does have very little exposure

This is also the most I’ve ranked so far since I’ve been posting my list. The highest I’ve gone is 150. I have about 200 guys but I didn’t know enough about the last 40 to rank them.

And finally, here’s my list

I’d like to hear your reasoning on Kallionkieli over Brink. Brink has been playing very well at near 2 PPG and has 10 more points than Kallionkieli does. I love the Brazillian roots and his story, but for me he’s more of a 3rd / 4th round pick. Our lists are somewhat similar for sure.

Your opinion on this draft? How strong do you believe this draft class is overall?

Brink is an unknown for me (as in what he’s going to end up as)
*as of now* I think that Kallionkieli just has more translatable tools as a complimentary scorer, I’ve watched them both the same but it’s just a feeling for me to take Kallionkieli over Brink, somehow he impressed me more than Brink. Maybe I’m watching the wrong games or something but it is still very early and it can go either way. As of now I’ll take Kallionkieli. Knew that was going to be unpopular though

I’ve been very on and off with this draft from saying it’s not good, to very good but Ive made up my mind it’s about average. I’m not a big fan of Hughes but it’s getting interesting how all of my top 3 are that close, I think they’re all on the same level

I really agree on Toporowski, good player who does not get talked about much. I am working on a top 31 and I thought about giving him the last spot honestly.

Also love putting Pelletier in the top 20, feels like the Q continues to get overlooked.

We are very far apart on both Guskov and Zaitsev... I like both those kids a lot... what do you not like about them?

Could you elaborate on that? I'm brazilian and never heard about this kid and I'm not finding anything on google about this.

Could you explain Dorofeyev at 10?
Heres my notes I wrote down on him-

Very good offensively. Wicket shot with a quick release and does have velocity on his shot. Great agility and skating. I’d like to see more of a motor on him. Ok defensively, not a liablity. Reminds me of Kravtsov in some ways. Good size and puck control, hard to take him off the puck, can weave through multiple players with ease, going to be dominant when he bulks up. Older player for the draft class.

Obviously these are notes I just wrote down on him that’s why it’s a bit choppy, I’m hoping to try and do a full scouting report for my top 100 after WJC.

Good to see my fellow Newfoundlander, Newhook in the top 5. Krebs is towards the end of the top 20. Some non-lottery team could end up with quite a gem in him. Many thanks for sharing this.

I accidentally removed someone earlier and I couldn’t figure out who haha

McCarthy was supposed to be 65.

Haha glad I caught it for ya! 65 feels about right for him. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him move up the list by the end of the year. Solid and reliable and hard.
