A few (random) notes-
I’m not as big on Jack Hughes as many others. I see some disappointment potential in him honestly but he’s still the #1 for now. Kaapo Kakko is very, very close to him.

I haven’t soured on Honka like a lot have just yet (clearly.) still the best dman in the draft

Broberg is a big faller, overrated due to Hlinka but I initially bought into the hype as well

I really do not know what people see in Byram. Is he a good prospect? Yes. But not top 5 like people say and not top 10 for me (yet) either. Every time I watch him I come away disappointed

Soderstrom is legit.

Tons of Russian talent in this draft

I see a lot of Kravtsov in Dorofeyev

Seider is a name to watch and one of my personal favorites. Very, very good all around. Maybe not high end offensive upside but his defense is very good

I don’t know what people see in Nikkanen/Vlasic/Pelletier. If I’m missing something please lmk. I’ve seen Nikkanen and Pelletier about 4 times each and quite a lot of Vlasic. Never come away too impressed

Afanasyev is very underrated

I couldn't agree more on Pelletier, finally someone who shares that opinion. Hell, not a big Nikkanen fan either, and Vlasic is hardly the best 6'5"+ D in the draft like he's hyped up to be. Cade Webber and Oliver Turan are both big fellas who should give him a run for his money.

I also prefer Soderstrom to Broberg, but both are significantly above Bjornfot as far as I'm concerned. I still have Broberg in my top 15.

As of now, Kakko has surpassed Hughes in my ranking but it's certainly close. I also agree with Dach 3rd.

Personally I prefer a lot of defensemen to Honka, who's defensive game really bothers me, and he hasn't had the offense this season to make up for it. I would prefer Byram, York, Soderstrom, Broberg, Robertson, Seider and Has at this point.

All in all, I really like this list.

I could see a point for major concerns about Honka but his upside is very high. His bad defensive game is overstated imo

I think it all comes down to how you equate him and his brother. Yes, he is a better player, but is the positive difference in the areas that are severely holding his brother back, or simply in the areas that Julius is already very good at?

Byram should be higher (top 10) and Vlasic should be waaaaay higher.

Otherwise it’s pretty solid! (Genuinely)

I think Vlasic is a solid 2 way guy with room for growth. I can understand not being enamored by him, but teams like guys like him. Byram however... not sure what’s not to like about him, he gets underappreciated in this class big time.

Thoughts on Ben Brinkman?
Reminds me of McDonagh (playstyle wise)
I don’t see him being a top dman or even a top 4 dman like McDonagh though. I think he’s a safer type prospect with limited offensive upside. Could be a good bottom pairing D/4D but that’s just my opinion
