Two years was perfect for both sides. Gives Laughton a chance to cash in a little bit as a young UFA. For the Flyers they can probably replace him with a cheaper/younger player by then. Good, almost underrated player for this team though at this point. Was thinking 2 million per so this is a solid deal in terms of aav.

Good price for both sides. Laughton had a good year and made significant progress in his development as a 3rd/4th line pk specialist that can score. I believe that Laughton will work on becoming more of an agitator in 2019/2020 and take more of a leadership role

Yup. Laughton had 30 points last year with no PP time. This is a good deal for him and the Flyers.

We’re basically paying for his usage bump last year which made his surface numbers look better. He was fifth in total ice time last year amongst forwards & eighth in average ice time amongst forwards at 5v5.

This place has become completely insufferable. People should try paying attention to the market. Laughton came in lower than Joel Armia 2.6 million and Alex Iafallo 2.46 million. All three signed two year deals this week and had very similar numbers this past season.

Meh, a little much, but I'm Laughtons biggest fan so I'm not too worried about it.

For reference, his two most common linemates last year were Raffl and Simmonds, so the 32 points definitely isn't bad. Problem is, I don't know if he can repeat that number and he's almost certainly seeing less usage next year.
