Steve Thomas was the last leaf to score there.

The last goal scored in MLG was by tough guy Bob Probert in a 6-2 Chicago win over the leafs.

The first game in the gardens was also against Chicago and also was a loss.

Looks like I may be bringing my Maple Leaf Gardens seat out again! I sit in it for every Leaf playoff game, so it has been a while!!

Wow, these video's are pretty nostalgic for the "young" fan in me. I remember that day very, very well.

Thanks for the post. What a great building that was.

A buddy of mine worked in advertising in Toronto, and had a Ford account - well they were a big sponsor of the Leafs. He called me up to see if I wanted to help out with the ceremony and parade of players from MLG to the ACC the weekend after this. Like I was going to say no......?

They said, no autographs or anything...yeah right! Even got a couple of magnets from the side of the cars they used with the players names on them still at home, as well as my pass to get into the Gardens and ACC areas that were not accessible to general public.

:yo:
