This thread is really premature. I bet a third of these players aren't even on that team after this weekend.

Based on what we currently have?

Perron - Shipacyov - Neal
xxxx - Eakin - Smith
xxxx - Haula - Marchassault
Lindberg - Karlsson - Pulkinnen

Methot - Theodore
Schlemko - Miller
Schmidt - Engelland

Fleury
Pickard

Noone they drafted would be good enough to play middle six LW. Those would be filled by FA's. Maybe throw money at Bonino and Marleau.

But, of course, this lineup will look quite different tomorrow night, and even more so after July 1st.

Worst team ever?

Not even close.

- Fleury is a top 10 goalie.
- Methot is shutdown 2/3D
- Thedore is a top 4 guy who could be pushing for top 3 status by end of the year
- Schlemko - Miller are a decent middle pair
- Schmidt - Engelland is a high end third pair
- that 4th line is probably one of the better ones in the league
- Haula is an ideal 3C
- Marchassault has the skill, shot, and IQ to hit 15-25 yearly, and he's on the third line
- Smith is an ideal second line wing
- Eakin is a high end 3C, and could hold his own at 2C short term
- The first line is a low end first line, but still a legit first line

If you gave them a 1D and a LW better than Perron to bump him down to the second line, then I would call them a top 3 finisher in the Pacific

Fleury has is definitely not a top 10 goalie, Methot is only a top pairing Dman with Karlsson, and just about every other thing you said is giving them to much credit. This team will be like every other expansion team before them. They decided not to take the best players available and will fail in the short term because of it.

This has to be one of the worst posts of all time. I find it hard to agree with anything you've said.

Nosek is a better NHL player than Pulkkinen having seen both of them first hand. I know he was a surprise to some. But he is a versatile guy. Can play all three forward positions, is good at pking and has a very responsible 200 ft game. I notice he is being left out of the lineups and I seriously doubt he isn't in their plans as an everyday player.

Not set the world on fire numbers, but a smart bottom six guy that can do a lot of things with a pretty big body is going to get him some playing time in Vegas in my opinion. He is better than some of the players listed, I know being held down by the Wings has some questioning that, but I expect him to be a day one starter there in a depth role and likely a player Vegas fans like for his energy and hockey IQ. I also think his skating has improved a little each year that next half step makes him a dependable third liner in my opinion.

Worst team ever?

Their D-core is better than the Wings....

It's not the worst team ever but you have overhyped every player on the roster and there is no way in hell this team can be a top 3 team in the division no matter who else the are able to add to that team.

Well yeah, if you overrate every single player on the roster and list them a tier or so above what they actually are, I could see them finishing top 3 with that lineup. In reality, even with a 1D and an upgrade on Perron, that's still a lottery team.

Haha true. The vegas team is going ot be awful. They dont have good defense at all and i would say schmidt, theodore, and methot are the only players that are decent on d
