I have no idea what happened in Detroit but he was a terrific #5 defender in Vancouver.

Smart teams would also put him on the PK where he has always killed it.

He’s 5’10 180 lbs soaking wet. He’s so weak. Loses almost every pick battle but he puts up a fight. Dude works hard and skates hard but his effectiveness is really limited.

As a Canuck fan I was happy Stecher was let go, he's just undersized and isn't offensively gifted enough to counter being undersized and not strong enough. Credit where credits due though he is one of the hardest working guys I've seen, but he's just not physically strong enough.

To me he is still a guy you can play a couple of games every now and then and won't be too bad. But you don't want him in the lineup regularly.
