Hate this for Cincinnati.

Trade 2 of your top prospects for 1 year of Puig where the team has no chance of making the playoffs.

Kemp isn't good, Wood is a year from free agency and saw every indicator get worse last year and still isn't enough to bring them even close to contention. It was a stupid trade by the Reds.

Absurd. They could flip Wood/Puig/Kemp and get similar prospects to the ones they gave up.

Kemp isn't getting them anything. So they pay Wood and Puig for half a year to flip them for something similar? So they just paid a lot of money for nothing. Glad you agree it was a dumb trade for the Reds.

They three solid major league players, who they can keep if they contend or flip if they become sellers, and get out of an albatross contract.

Kemp is not a solid major leaguer. They are flipping Puig and Wood for the value of 3 month rentals, which is very likely less than what they paid in terms of prospects. And they're still at best the 4th best team in the division and probably still the worst with no real path to getting into the top 3 which is the minimum you need to do to get to the playoffs.
