I'm more curious how a side wins comfortably but still needs late winners. Anyway, everyone knows 16/17 was down to the refs.

Atleti loses 2-0 to Athletic.

Hopefully Valverde rotates the main guys and gives minutes to some of the younger players (especially Malcom), there’s a lot of breathing room between Barça and the rest, especially if they win tomorrow.

He did. But to be fair, he's got some serious work to do if he wants to be the player he was in 16-17.
While Marcelo looked worlds better than in his last game, Isco still looked slow and sluggish and, well, unfit.
Maybe the goal and manager's confidence give him an extra boost for the remainder of the season.

Isco is a great talent, but his decision making is still meh
A player like Iniesta knew when it was time to release the ball and when it was time to dribble
