With the National Hockey League trending towards speed, speed and more speed, the Los Angeles Kings won two Stanley Cup Championships with a team that was big and physical, one that could wear you down with a relentless forecheck and move the puck up ice very, very quickly.

But other teams learned to counter what the Kings were doing after they won those two championships and, as previously stated, they did that by emphasizing speed. This has forced the Kings to change their philosophy, in terms of how they play the game—it's no secret that they need to add speed to their roster and they can’t do that without building their team through the draft.

But how have the changes in the game affected how they evaluate and draft players?
