Going into next season - who scores most points.

Kucherov individual points + Tampa team points
vs
MacKinnon individual points + Colorado team points
vs
McDavid individual points + Edmonton team points

Past 3 years:

2018-2019: Kuch/Tampa 256, Mcd/Edm 195, Mack/Col 178
2019-2020: Kuch/Tampa 177, Mcd/Edm 180, Mack/Col 176

Last year is a bit off, with Kucherov not playing, and Mack missing 8 games and a shorter season. But it's McDavid 177, Mack 137, Kuch 75.

On paper, it seems like TBL and COL got weaker offensively, while EDM improved their forward group.

Plus, everyone says the Pacific is terrible, so wouldn't you go with the EDM option?

Eh - Tampa only really lost Gourde as a guy who scores points. Tampa + Kucherov was the highest scoring team what, two or three straight seasons? And they were high up there for a good chunk of the past season until the last quarter when everyone was getting injured.

Probably a pretty safe bet.

Well no. 3 years ago Tampa Bay had 128 points in the standings and Kucherov also had 128 points to win the Ross for 256 points total if you add them up. McDavid had 116 points and Edmonton had 79 points for 195 total. 256 > 195, meaning you pick Tampa/Kuch that year.
Last year - Kucherov didn't play, Tampa had 75 points. McDavid had 105 points, Edmonton had 72 for 177 total. 177 > 75 so Edmonton.

I posted the 3 year totals for all 3 teams. It's actually super close, especially 2 years ago the last full season.

As for the question, probably Kucherov + Tampa. While the Pacific sucks, it can’t be more of a cakewalk than 3/4 of Edmonton’s games last year.
