My thought is that he'll either sign with the Kraken long-term or with the Canes for one year. The appeal of the Carolina option is that he could get a shot to win the Cup and play with Slavin, and then the next season get a massive, Dougie-esque contract with someone.

He is not worth what he will be paid unfortunately. He is Erik Karlsson lite, not entirely great defensively but can put up points. We will miss him him Dallas as he has been a total fan favorite.

Kraken probably want to be competitive for their new fanbase but the smart play is to stealth tank one more year and a year from now Beniers/Wright are NHL tested and they get another high pick in the vaunted ‘23 draft class
