Good evening my fellow Habs fans. Not sure if this is allowed, however, my small Northern Ontario town is a top 4 finalist for Kraft Hockeyville 2024. We’ve been without an arena since September. It’s just another issue we’ve had to deal with.
Elliot Lake was once the uranium capital of the world. Because of this, our little city was built quick, fast and in a hurry.
In 2012 our mall collapsed. In 2019 out Civic Centre collapsed. Last year it was discovered our pool had a leak. After our NOJAH team had their first home game in September, filling the arena with 500 spectators. The next day it was shut down because of serious structural issues.
We’ve lost all of our community gathering spaces, and this contest would mean so much more than you could understand.
As Habs fans, we love hockey, and my little community loves it too. Please, on March 29th until 5pm March 30th, please , please vote for Elliot Lake. Winner will be announced after the 1st period of the Leafs (puke) game Saturday.
