Kost and OSul had a similar AHL season... Similar kind of player.... Kost had a better NHL season.. Same age.. Who should have the better offensive career?

Kostitsyn Vs Benoit Pouliot Vs OSullivan

    1- Benoit Pouliot
    2- Kostitsyn
    2- OSullivan

Glad you started this thread again:) , 'cause mine disappeared?!! (mine was with M-A Pouliot & not Benoit...).

I've absolutely loved watching Kostitsyn in his last 15 games, he has finally showed how assertive and confident he can be (& the talent was oozing out because of it: natural hockey sense, dangling style & great passing). There's still lots he can demonstrate (like his heavy shot). I'm very excited about Kosts...
Not sure if I'd trade A. Kosts for B.Pouliot? I'd keep Kosts + we have Sergei Kosts (Andrei's brother) coming up in a year or more...

    1. Andrei Kosts & B. Pouliot
    2. P. O'Sullivan

    cheers:)

O`Sullivan for me. The kid played very well at the end of the season and i think he is going to break out next year.

Kostitsyn put up those numbers (52 pts in 50 gms) in his 3rd AHL season while O'Sullivan scored 93 points (47 goals) as a rookie and he won ROY in the AHL. He was focusing on defense when he was sent down this season so you can't compare his numbers from this season. O'Sullivan struggled in the beginning of this season but he played great after being called up in January. He was throwing his body around, he was playing on the PK, and he made some great plays in the last two months of the season. He has an awesome shot but he is also a great playmaker. He struggled at LW but played great when he was moved to center and that is probably where the Kings will keep him. O'Sullivan has a lot of potential and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get 70 pts next season. I would take O'Sullivan over Kostitsyn.

imo kings wins that one. because the gap between kopitar and kostitsyn is bigger
then the one between price and bernier.

Kostitsyn has Marian Hossa like skills. Take that for what you will.

Only time will tell, only time will tell...;)

I may sound like a typical HAB fan, but I'm extremely excited that our scouting staff and GM decided to draft CAREY PRICE at 5th overall:)

For now (even if it seems like a risk to non-HAB fans), I'd go with Price and Kosts VERSUS Kopitar and O'Sullivan...

The Habs need THAT goalie who can be counted on (a top 5 goalie a la Luongo, Brodeur...). Well...every team needs THAT type of goalie...

Not that I agree or disagree with you but you might as well take into consideration that in Kostitsyn's first year he may of tried to adapt to NA. 2nd tried to work on his defensive game. Now in his 3rd is trying to be that complete player.

O'Sullivan got all his point with some bunch of 30YO AHLers... Dogs was the youngest team last year and ewasnt so old this year. I dont think AHL stats should matter anyway.

    Kost
    O'Sullivan
    M-A Pouliot

Kosty was also developing his defensive game, and from what I remember he started his AHL career much younger. I am not sure exactly but I am betting the age of two were either the same or 1 year off in the years in question.

Kost was 19 when he started in the A and was extremely raw defensively, he was also reluctant to learn english so that was a difficult task to teach.

So first he's much younger, and then they were the same age or 1 year apart in age? Kostitsyn was 19, and O'Sullivan was 20. So, yeah I guess you're right, 1 year is MUCH younger.

What matters is what they do in the nhl anyway and I think Kost will own them all.
