I honestly didn't watch the game very closely last night, but from what I did see Lind didn't look that impressive to me. He doesn't look like a puck battler, and didn't seem to move his feet that much. But he doesn't run around and looked smart enough to have an idea where he should be. His ceiling might be something like a skinny Nick Bonino. Hope he can have a good off season and come into camp next year and grab a spot.

Thought he looked alright last night.

He could easily replace what Gaudette brought to the table.
He’s already replaced Jake.
Lind 17:40 ice time and moved up
Jake 13:10 ice time and moved down
Lind is way smarter, and Green already trusts him more than Jake.

Right now the bar is set so low for depth forwards on the Canucks, Lind doesn't have to do too much to stick around.

We're at the point now where some of the Canucks later round picks like Lind and Gadjovich have to start cracking the lineup if the Canucks have any hope of ever improving.

Promoting with within is light years better than the plethora of waiver wire pickups; overpaid veterans on the serious downside of their careers; and small, speedy and injury-prone wingers; who currently populate the Canucks bottom-six.

If there's any chance that Podkolzin, Lind and Gadjovich could come in and win spots earning somewhere around 'entry-level' money, it would go a long way to easing the Canucks cap crunch.

2nd round is a later round pick?

It looks like he may be able to, but we'll see.

The only positive Gaudette brought to the table was some decent offense on the PP, and his ability to draw penalties.
he wasnt a driver of offense, and he got caved in defensively pretty bad the last 2 season.

Looked solid in his debut. Speed and ability to carry the puck was at a NHL level which is big as those were his weaknesses a couple years ago. Vision and knowing where to be on the ice is his bread and butter. At the very least will be a top 9 forward and thats really all we need him to be.

Miller - Pettersson - Boeser
Hoglander - Horvat - Podkolzin
Pearson - XXXXX - Lind

The expectation for Lind based on reports about his AHL play should be a smart player who positions himself well on offense but that may lack the physicality needed to carve out a true NHL role.

If the offense is there he could be that PP specialist you carry on your 3rd line and use to spark your top-6 when somebody is cold. If it isn't I feel like Lind will plateau as a guy that lights up the AHL but can't find room on an NHL roster.

Why does this feel depressingly common of a good chunk of our hopeful prospects beyond podkolzin.

I hope he develops Wellwood's hands and faceoff abilities. If Lind can do that I'll be thrilled.

This is what happens when you draft skilled players who might not have plus-level physical tools. That said, guys like Lockwood, Gadjovich, and Costmar don't entirely fit that mold. Plus, the NHL is moving towards skilled 3rd/4th lines that can go mostly even and pot a few goals.

I'm hoping for an Andrew Mangiapane type of impact in the coming years. Not necessarily in skillset, but what they can bring as smart players that can play in the middle six, be productive and develop into a quality NHLer.

WHEN Lind is at his best, he’s a real pest. Im hoping we see him gain confidence and his “rat” comes out soon. We Need more guys who played like burr and Kes.

So pumped to see this kid play more. After watching him play in Utica I had him down my list of those I wanted to see play games in Vancouver. It probably went about like this:
Rathbone
DiPietro
Lockwood
Lind
Gadjovich

Now it's probably closer to:
Lind
Rathbone
Gadjovich
Lockwood
DiPietro

Gadjovich is on fire this year (I know, I know, watered down AHL). 15 goals in 18 games is outstanding.
In recent games Lockwood has found an offensive side to his game to go with the speed and tenacity.

Lots of questions still but you have to like how all of these players (DiPietro excepted through no fault of his own) have developed this year.

Too bad you guys didn't get your way on draft day because the chances of Lind > Hague seem mighty slim.

Canucks were trying to be progressive at the draft table. 6'6" 230lbs Dman with a booming shot? There's only one Chris Pronger. Chara lite is still ok though.

As far as I could tell Lind's stint at centre for Utica this year was more out of necessity than a result of any specific plan to develop him at centre. I could be wrong.

All that said, it would be fantastic if he could develop as a 3rd line centre. With Lockwood and Gadjovich developing nicely and projecting as bottom 6 wingers, developing Lind at centre would fit well. He has the skating and could provide some offense from the 3C position. Is he adequate defensively? I don't know. But he has some tenacity to his game which will serve him well.

I liked him so far, didn’t look out of place. He’s got to find his niche in the league whatever it may be. I’d like to see more of his grit/pestiness, that he’s shown in the A.

Has some skills that our bottom 6 pool would dream of, needs to round out his skill set to be effective at this level in the bottom 6. Needs to improve his skating.

Cautiously optimistic.

Basically we need 12 quality NHL forwards. Next season could potentially have 9-10 NHL forwards if you include Podkolzin, Lind, Gadjovich and the top 6. There's still Motte kicking around.

It's getting close, but our core is younger than EDM/CGY/TOR also. You gotta consider that when VAN is dead last in Canada.

He’s making a low salary and didn’t fall on his face which is better than the bulk of the bottom 6. That said, he also hasn’t shown much but let’s see what an extended number of games brings. Following that, let’s see what he learns and what he does in the off season to come to camp challenging for a spot.
