The Pittsburgh Penguins would like to announce one of the biggest trades in team history. It is on this day that we must say goodbye to Evgeni Malkin. There have been tons of rumours about his departure from Pittsburgh all throughout the season, and after tons of debating, tons of offers, tons of negotiations, we say goodbye. It is not easy letting Malkin go, as he is possibly one of the best in the world right now, but we feel we got enough in return to warrant this trade. we thanks Geno and wish him all the best.

So we get back a number one centre in Ryan Getzlaf. We still believe this guy is an elite talent, and he will slot in perfectly on the second line, only second to Sidney Crosby. This is the best replacemnet for Malkin we can think of, and we are thrilled to get him in the deal.

Carl Alzner and John Carlson: The making of an elite shutdown pairing for years to come. These guys are BOTH only 22!! That is amazing for our organization! With the leadership of guys like Beauchemin and Timonen, these two will flourish as an elite pairing.

Joel Ward has proven to be a playoff beast, and will help us when we need some grittiness and some clutch scoring from the third line.
