I thought that was the common conception? That Klefbom was the Number 1, they added Larsson to give him a competent top pairing guy?

As far as the alluding it seems that your making. I'd disagree. Klefbom isn't better than a handful of defenseman in the league, possibly more. Sorry, its the truth. I do admit though, you got yourself a gem with him.

Klefbom > Doughty, Karlsson, Burns etc.

/s

Doughty isn't the same as the mini-Kings dynasty Doughty anymore.

Burns' even strength defense is negatively impacting his team.

Karlsson doesn't carry his defence corps the way Klef carries his.

I like this system that Garret uses for this quite a bit. It values so many things that most people wouldn't really talk about, like penalty draw and avoiding taking penalties.

It's clear that Klefbom is criminally underrated.

You just hopped on the crazy train and it's a one way ticket. There is no coming back from that.

I'm not implying the Sens dcorp is good that it doesn't need Karlsson, I'm implying the Oilers dcorp is very bad.

This is the Garret graph for Oilers in case you'd be wondering:

Please tell me which ones are wrong here

Statistically, Burns is negatively impacting his team defensively.

Doughty is not as good as he usually is this season

Boucher's system lends itself to Karlsson not carrying his defense as hard as he could.

Mind you, I'm not saying Klefbom is better than all of these players, I'm saying he's the most impactful on his respective team (and in the league when compared to how other d-men impact their teams) and should be considered a #1 d-man in the league.

:biglaugh: Does it get more delusional than this?

Is there a reason this metric takes into account PP but not PK?

Not 100% on this but basically on the PK players have very little agency, the goalie has the most and only impact, the skaters' impacts in front of him are negligible.

I really don't think you read my whole post if your response is "imagine if those two switched places." That literally isn't even what I'm arguing about.

Klef might carry Larsson but EK carries every team he plays for, even the Swedish Olympic team.
