KK not available to start training camp

so. question...

At the moment you get traded to a USA based team. Are you not at that moment in time an employee of said organization? Why do you have to wait until season info has come out to start the visa process? I figure it has something to do with players get checks only deposited during the regular season or this is a special case because the season was in doubt. But still it's kinda wacky to me as a pro athlete has to put "work" in year round to maintain their conditioning. It just seems that once you are hired by an organization in the US you should be able to apply for your visa then.

For what it's worth I love KK and was hyped to acquire him. I read in another thread that Granlund is having immigration issues which has me finding myself more understanding for KK after reading that
That and we literally have this issue more often than not with player with visa issues.

I think even Brassard had that issue and his was pre-covid, so I can only imagine how much more painful it is now.
