Noronen injured; Cam Ward called up
Goaltender Mika Noronen, who has been a nice surprise for the LA Kings thus far in the early goings of the season, has been placed on injury reserve, the team announced Thursday.
Noronen hurt his wrist making a save in the Kings' 5-3 loss to Detroit on Thursday evening. Los Angeles had been the only team to lose just one game so far, prior to Thursday's action. Goaltender Curtis Sanford came in for relief and the Wings quickly scored a pair of goals to win the game.
"We'll give Curtis the start on Friday and go from there" said coach Bob Hartley.
Meanwhile, rookie Cam Ward, the clubs 2002 first rounder, has been called up from their minor league affiliate.
