There would have to be a catastrophic downfall or a miracle of winning the draft lottery for this team to be in a position to land McDavid.

Worst-case scenario: if the Rangers won the 2015 Stanley Cup Final, I guarantee you they'll desecrate THE Stanley Cup itself, much to The Keeper of the Cup's frustration, annoyance, and disgust.

Say the Kings actually land McDaivd....would you trade Carter or Kopitar for needs like a top 4 Dman or top 6 scoring winger and picks? Plus gaining cap space.

No.... you don't pull an Edmonton and throw Leon in as your 2C in the first year..... If the Kings get Voynov back they'll have Doughty/Voynov/Martinez for puck moving D guys.... Big slow shut down guys don't cost Carter/Kopitar....

About the best the Kings could do is get in the 6-9% chance range this year.

That kind of chance percentage logically dictates how the Kings are serving themselves better to make a run to the playoffs to the point I am officially revoking my previous posts, pertaining to tanking.

Well then, the Kings might service themselves best by acquiring a younger D pair that'll fill the void for Mitchell, Voynov, and Greene, while reactivate Richards by the time he's NHL material again during this season.

There is a huge difference between Leon and McDavid! McDavid is a star that is ready for the big time and Leon is an average 2/3C.

The Kings could pick up a TWD and picks or a top line winger like JVR and picks for Carter. Or get a bunch of young prospects and picks plus cap space.

Just thinking way out of the box to solve all our problems super fast

Right now we have 3.5% chance. That's better the Lloyd Christmas' chances with Mary Swanson.

Another way to look at it is the Kings have to get 66% of the points available in their remaining games to get to that hopefully, magic number of 95 points, up from 57% a little over a month ago (what tells you what kind of month they had).

Either way, we win.

A) Make the playoffs, bonus! This Kings team is so resilient.
B) We Miss the playoffs, score! A chance for McDavid and the team gets a rest from playing so many frickin' games the past 3 season.
