True that but I would have liked to have seen a 4-5 year deal. He should still be in his prime defenseman years at the end of that longer deal.

I will go out on a limb and say i am happy its a short term deal. The league generally signs player for to long and the last years of contract always seem to age bad. As pointed out earlier there will be young defenseman ready to step in at the end of this contract should we wish to move on. I think Blake did a great job on this one.
