After that 9 game stretch. We have another very important one.

    5 games @ home (30, 2, 4, 6 and 8)
2 games against division rivals (NYR and CBJ. CBJ will be on a second half of a b2b btw)

Kings are 14-8-0-3 31pts, 2nd in the Pacific, and tied for 4th in the conference with Las Vegas.
    Kings powerplay-17.9% ranked 21st
Penlty killing-89.3% ranked 1st in league
    In 25 games:
Goals for- 73 ranked 19th with GPG 2.84
Goals against- 57 ranked 2nd with GAA 2.28

They're stingy, it's Sutter hockey, but we can beat them. Even strength play could be the deciding factor.
4 wins in a row, 5 in the last 6, sounds alot better than the rambles I'll post tomorrow if this team loses. Offense needs to show up. Caps 4-3 in extra time.

I don't bet on hockey, but if I did I'd let it all ride on the Kings tonight.

I'd love to be wrong, but this team consistently sucks after long layoffs, and the Kings are a good team this year.

    Long lay-off.

    Good 5-on-5 team.

    #1 PK.

    3-1 Kings.

The Kings aren't nearly as good at 5v5 this season as they have been in the past. They've been buoyed by remarkable goaltending so far and their defense has been porous, especially compared to prior years:

We usually suck after long layoffs but tonight we'll buck the trend. 3-1 Caps.

Kings have lost 7 of their last 10, GF 21, GA 23. Beat Detroit a few days ago 4-1.

yep, we suck after a layoff, and without looking, when i hear the Kings, i feel like they usually beat us. Maybe they'll keep rolling, who knows?

We put up 5-0 on them last time they visited us in DC, including a water bottle popping goal from Oshie.

Looking at the stats over the years (last 3 to 4 years) kings always won in La and caps always won in DC

Connolly not dressed again. Makes me wonder if they are shopping him and don't want him to get hurt. I don't have a problem with him not dressing. Just a bit surprised Graovac is in over Connolly. I'd rather see Stephenson and Graovac switch lines though.

Same here. Not really sure how Trotz could decide Stephenson isn’t deserving of a top 9 role, especially since it’s Graovac as the alternative.

What a play starting with the hit by Vrana. Because of That hit the left D is not there in time

Excellent read by Orlov and nice move by Kuznetsov. Orlov is picking up his play lately.
