The HFNHL LA Kings have finalized two trades, in an effort to solidify their roster early before heading into the 2011-12 season.
The first trade saw the Kings deal Troy Brouwer, Gilbert Brule and Patrick Kaleta to the Philadelphia Flyers for Curtis Glencross and Mark Stuart. The club sees Glencross as an upgrade over Brouwer, while Stuart will take over the role of sixth defenseman that was previously held by Kyle Cumiskey.
Brule's spot on the checking line was then filled by veteran John Madden, who was acquired for a draft pick from the Anaheim Ducks. He is a pending UFA and a contract offer has been sent to agent Mickey Swingstein.
The Kings continue to have one spot open on defense, and could add two to three veterans for the bottom forward lines.
