They are not more pleasing to my eye, that's my beef. For me it's a case of looking more American for the sake of looking more American.

I don't need to check it, I believe you. Well, it's not hard to understand most people (or let's say: a lot of people) nowadays are Americanized.

It's neither a good nor a bad thing per se. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not. I just fail to see the point in "Americanization at any price" (post #119) = "looking more American for the sake of looking American" (post #134).

What I stated is that a lot of people happen to be americanized today which makes them inclined to like North American style aesthetics. I happen to not necessarily like them, so in this case Americanization is not a good thing in my eyes. But I didn't say anything about North America in general or about capitalism or whatever you suggest.

I don't care for All star games, might as well scrap them, they're a waste of time from my point of view. But I don't care enough for them to really be against it, I just don't mind.

To some extent. And, to that extent, you've thoroughly explored the matter. However your last post was more fitting to the discussion about Edward Hooper's paintings.

And it's not even a real problem with that logo.

It may seem to be appropriate for MMg (it's literally a "metallurg" after all and there's a noticable socialist realism overtone in it), but it doesn't really fit the league. Not just the KHL, most of the major leagues I can think of. It's more of an ECHL logo.

It also won't look well on jerseys either, because it's too detailed. It may be good enough for merchendise, in case they want to launch in production their own brand of beer ("hey, look, est. 1955!"), but I honestly wouldn't want to see that thing during translations.

I have no idea why they even bothered with this poll. People are stupid, they like to click on pretty pictures not even thinking about the way they're supposed to be used. And I hope that in the end they will combine all the votes for the fox logo.

That said, your post has some good points, but I have no problem with teams sporting their roots. That "hey look est. 1955!" thingy is a a European sports team tradition and has nothing to do with your local beer brewery.

The only thing I can say surely is that Magnitka will not take the winner of the poll as their new logo. They'll just take the results into consideration.

But I do remember seeing this logo in the runet before. It's not the first time when a possible rebranding of Metallurg (either of them) is discussed.

Medvescak logo is one of the nicest. Very classic.

I'm not saying they should change the bear. By all means, let it stay, but at least make a decent effort at drawing it, change the lettering, add more colors, shadows, because right now it looks like it was made in paint by some 15 year old, who didn't have enough time to finish it.

So if two clubs did it its ok? Maybe we should ask their fans if they would be for radical changes at this time. I'm absolutely against radical changes in clubs identity. Be that logo or club colors. But that's just my opinion.

Habs have this logo for basically 100 years. Small tweaks like they did are acceptable but anything more is just a no - no. But like i said.. its only my opinion.

Whats wrong with MedveÅ¡čak logo anyway? Its easily better than any modern KHL logos. I'd be ashamed if we had some imposed font like Donbass. Less is often more. Just look at Dynamo and Spartak logos, clean and brilliant.
