Slovan fans wanted to boycott, many of them had done it.. and guess what? No one cares about that, almost all games in last two years was sold out...

Czech fans, "we dont want that fake team here".. "nobody cares about them and nobody cares about KHL (Russian teams and Russian league) here.." and guess what? Popularity of them are grownig, their attendance in PO was great.. Not mention that if you call Lev that they are fake team, they are mad..

It's the same old story. Dinamo Minsk ultras, who are mostly football oriented ofc, are boycotting the KHL team as well. And nobody seems to care either, because all those people at their arena are casual fans with their families, many of which didn't even bother with pro hockey before the KHL arrival.

Of all honesty, estranging some of the most "hardcore" fans may be for the better. I'm pretty convinced that KHL would've been better off without a huge chunk of the Spartak fans, the filth of their derbies against CSKA and nonsensically offensive nationalist/serbophilic chants at Medvescak games, because there's no place for all that bs in hockey.

Yes... They're two separate organizations, Eisbären Juniors is the actual core of the club and the pro team is indeed operated by the American AEG group.

What we know, step by step

1.It is normal that junior and senior teams are two separate legal entities. Important are people behind scenes... in this case Peter John Lee, CEO of Eisbären.

Struktur des Eisbären Juniors Berlin e.V.

Aufsichtsrat:
Georg Arndt, Helge Becker, Ralf Kieslich, Peter John Lee, Hartmut Nickel
http://www.eisbaeren.de/club/eisbaren-juniors/

2.Jussi thinks, I guess, that AEG as US company will not cooperate with KHL. He is not right of course. Bussiness is not politics.

3.AEG wanted to sell O2 arena, Arena Events was interested in. You know, Rome was not built within a day.

4.Berlin is HQ of Gazprom

5.Eisbären is former Dynamo

6.MHL was established by KHL, Medvedev is head of both. Joining MHL means you/Eisbären have a deal with Medvedev who wants strong german club in KHL. MHL is only a beginning of cooperation among Eisbären and KHL. First step.

This song starting to be funny and also tiresome.. I can't believe that you still don't undestand it. Fans? Your opinion? Nobody cares about that.. if KHL wants Swedish team they will get one (or maybe more), sooner or letter but they will...

Slovan fans wanted to boycott, many of them had done it.. and guess what? No one cares about that, almost all games in last two years was sold out...

Then Finns on this board or in personal talk.. "KHL in Finland? No way, fans will never allow it.. bla bla bla" ... Jokerit is there, and no one cares about fans or anyone on this board.

note: ten boys in masks, yeah whole KHL is afraid of them..

Slovan fans before one of their BBQ session (how they call it)

these guys have attacked several coaches and players, and it always end with that the coach and players are listenting to them. they dont like khl. some of them have some high positions in AIK as members.

So forget it - it will never happen. No other swedish team aswell, to stubborn for that (swedes).

BBQ session means barbeque. If one firm is bored (mostly slovan) they send message to another something like:

Can we meet for barbeque 25 on 25 on secured place, no weapons?

it means: can we meet for fight 25 people each, no weapons = no knives, no baseball bats etc., secured place = no police, no civilians.. That's how it works in Slovakia (Czech, Poland) until the match day. Numbers and other staff can by different, it's just an example of their stupidy and how it really works. For me it's good that they started to do it on "secured place" not on the stadiums like it was few years ago and still is on futball.. If they want fight each other in privacy to see who has bigger jester in pants .. I don't care

Sorry for OT.

Linking to Russian language sites without providing a translation is always helpful...

The fact that Arena Events owners are on the US sanctions list kind of prevents AEG from doing business with them.

Once again, people are missing the point here totally. The quicker the KHL expands and more teams are added, the more the quality of the teams will suffer. If the goal is provide competition to NHL, that will only serve to increase the distance between the two leagues.

i wouldnt agree. If you have finish, swiss swedish norwegian german clubs than you have a better pool of local players with all the import rules in place. Russia has for now to many clubs in place (in 5-10 years maybe not with the big increase in rinks and i am assuming plan for better training of coaches more talents will come) in KHL with the limited player pool. But clubs from different countries fill up from their own pool of players and therefore increase the overall quality and haveing clubs that are more equal in strength.

The problem becomes when that pool diminishes suddenly by a far too big a number. That has already been the case in Finland. The clubs can't replace a player just like that from their own juniors. Many teams have already been forced to play juniors that have in no way been ready to play against adults yet or even never. It's not like every Finnish clubs junior systems develop an equal amount of potential talent. Clubs will end up filling their rosters with crappy foreign players like HIFK and TPS did this past season and that won't make the teams nor league anymore attractive. One has to look into the future so to speak, with this. What will happen when those players that were brought into KHL now outgrow their usefulness? Where are the clubs going to get the players when the previously adequate talent pool has become less than adequate? It's not like even Jokerit has automatic access to every Finnish player as has been evidenced now. As I said, if players like Max Wärn who isn't anything close to national team material, is suddenly good enough to play in KHL, what does that say about the quality of the KHL now?

That's common procedure with most of the firms all over Europe. But anything can happen inside and around the stadiums still. Unfortunately.

Yeah an expansion with a swedish team wont happen, as we have said many times:
The members of the swedish teams own atleast 51% of their club so no one can buy them. That's why the KHL won't expand to Sweden - swedish fans hate the KHL, for swedes the KHL is "plastic" and all about money. When the SHL announced plans of a new series system in december there were MAJOR protests among the fans. There were boycotts, banners like "when money rules the fans flee", fans of different teams went together at games and chanted stuff like "SHL - Hockeymurderers", thousands signed petitions calling for the SHL president to resign and so on. Every supportergroup of the teams in the two highest leagues went together and published this:
http://www.expressen.se/sport/hockey/shl/supporterforeningar-riv-upp-shl-forslaget/
"On fridaymorning we were met by SHL:s proposal of a new series system. Among other things it means that the team with the best economy and potential shall be moved up to an expanded SHL, that the Kvalserie is abolished and that only one team will need to enter a play-out.
We as supporters of swedish hockeyteams belive that the teams who play in the highest league shall be determined on the ice - nothing else. Teamsports are about winning games, not who has the most modern arena or the biggest name.
We are confident that the proposal, if made reality, will be the beginning of the end of swedish hockey. The excitement of a more or less closed league will be diminished, the whole system is unfair and will kill many organisations who today fight in the second highest league.
Swedish hockey should think of what the audience want - what we want. The atmosphere at our arenas are central for the well being of hockey. If you want hockey in Sweden to have a future you need to listen to us. We demand that our respective clubs do everything in their power to stop this proposal.
Let it be decided on the ice."
A couple of days later the SHL pulled back. So when we say that the fans wont allow a KHL-expansion, we mean it. And if against all odds some swedish team would enter the KHL, they would lose their fans and be treated like a pest ridden rodent who no one wanted anything to do with.

That applies mostly to the Russian teams bound by import restrictions imposed by the Russian hockey federation. A German team would be in a different situation, it would actually help the league to explore yet untapped German and (possibly) Swiss player markets, as well as to attract more better quality North Americans to Europe.
