A rebuilding team doesn't sign a 26-y-o, top-six, all situations player to a one-year deal to NOT trade him. The only question is when.We got him for free, hopefully we don't let him leave that way.

Gorton isn’t Sather.
Sather wouldn’t have moved McD, Miller, Nash and Grabner at the deadline. Gorton understands how to manage his assets.
Hayes should get us a nice package back. His ass better stay healthy, and produce this year, or it’s going to cost him next July.
To be fair, you can't say that without knowing what the return would be...Hopefully they work on an extension throughout the year. If we trade him at the deadline, then this will be the worst thing that Gorton has done to this point imo.
