7 games is a joke. He should be missing the rest of the season at the absolute minimum. I guess we'll have to wait until he almost kills someone until the NHL properly disciplines this neanderthal.

That four year contract to Kassian is going to come back to bite the Oilers. He just can’t control himself and also he needs to be motivated on short term deals to play well.

How does Parros still have a job. Kassian has a history, was suspended within the last month and only gets 7 games??? The kick wasnt even with the boot, it was pure blade. The DoPS and Parros once again show how inconsistent and clueless they truly are.

So is kicking with your skate like a high sticking penalty where you need to draw blood before substantial punishment is dished out?

A lot of people here calling Kassian a moron but if you think about it.. its a pretty smart play on his part.

Ever since he's gotten the opportunity to play with McJesus he's become a star in his own mind and the minds of his adoring public. However... McJesus is injured and will miss a number of games and this, of course, is bad for Kassian. His points production is drying up already and the more he plays without McJesus the more apparent it becomes that the emperor isn't wearing any clothes.

Solution??? Get yourself suspended for at least as many games that McJesus will miss. If you're not playing fans can't complain about what a ****ty job you're doing.

It's brilliant I tell you. Brilliant. He helps both himself and the team in one fell swoop.
Kassian is loving that everything has gone according to plan. rub_ hands. gif

As an Oiler fan, realizing how important he is to our playoff hopes, yeah, would have put the guy away for the rest of the season. Doorknob move.

Kicking blade straight out at another player is only 7 games? This puts to rest the argument whether or not DOPS rules on severity of injuries

Exhibit #427 why the NHL is and always will be clownshoes league compared to NFL or Premier League or Bundesliga etc

Imagine how embarrassed the best player in the world is going to feel playing on this guys line now. Poor Connor.

Man, this thread delivers. So many bad takes from certain folk, but you can’t really expect any different eh

got more than I thought he would, since dops is kinda weird. Should’ve been at least 10 tho

Not enough. Should've been double digits.

This is not a deterrent. Going to be interesting when a player like McDavid gets kicked by a skate blade in the future.....

they set the precedent when they only fined Chara for using his stick as a weapon on Gallagher's throat

Great George Parros sees right through Cernaks blatant attempt to injure himself. There was #Nokick. NHL has undoctored footage showing Cernak CLEARLY lunges towards Kassians foot. Only suspended to appease outraged HF users. Sad really.
