Anderson's having a dreadful year this year after having a really good season last year. Kap is better right now and the safer pick, he's got the higher floor as an NHL player. But I might gamble and take Anderson because if he gets back to how he played last year, he's a more valuable player.

TL;DR: Kapanen is better right now, but i'd take Anderson.

I tend to agree. Anderson can be such a uniquely valuable player when he's on.

Josh Anderson has been injured pretty much all year. I'm gonna take him and bank on a healthy Anderson being back to last year's norm.

Seems the more likely cause is that Kapanen stopped playing with Matthews and attempts to isolate impact in RAPM are pretty futile

What's the hype with this Anderson jabroni? Dude had 1 good season and has 4 points. He's probably not even better than Lucic.

This seems like an odd statement given that Anderson has scored 17+ goals 3 seasons in a row prior to this one, while Kapanen has a solitary 20 goal season to his name.

If either have "only done it once" at this point in time, it's Kapanen, not Anderson.

I think Kapanen is the better player...but when Anderson is healthy and on his game, he might be the more "valuable" piece, just in bringing some unique elements that are always coveted highly by teams. That big physical presence who can play in a Top-6 and put pucks in the net is always highly valuable. Whereas decent speedy Top-9 offensive players are kind of dime a dozen these days.
