The team gets to pick the term right? You absolutely can not sign him to a two year. No matter the cap hit, the term can’t be two years.

And with a two-year contract, you can sign the player to an extension 7/1 of the year before contract expires. Otherwise, it's January 1 on a one year deal.

Yup. One year, just to be sure there’s not too much regression, then work out that long-term deal next summer.

Wish they would have gave him 6M x 1 before arbitration, but who knows what was offered or declined.

He’ll get his money. If he scores 30 next year showing he can keep his pace, he’s in line for a possible 8 year deal.

Another 70 point season and I would be fine with him getting 8x6.5-7.
