Karlsson was injured for the majority of the second half of the season.

Give me a healthy Karlsson any day of the week and I love Bergeron.

tough questions. If I want to win a cup this year, I take Bergeron. But Karlsson is younger. Karlsson is also off contract after this year, and I think he will get a contract he's not worth.

I think I take Bergeron.
Missed the playoff series a few years ago between the sens and bruins i guess.

Bergeron has modern-day peers... and they're good players [Kopitar, Toews kinda/sorta]

Karlsson has historical peers... and they're great players [Leetch is a strong comparable, were it not for Karlsson's speed-bump season last year.] So- unless Karlsson's hiccup turns into a Langway-esque Swan Dive, I'll favor Karlsson.

Karlsson has modern day peers as well.

Burns' current 4 year run is arguably as good as Karlsson's.

Burns: 75, 76, 65, 83
EK: 74, 66, 82, 71

Reilly just put up 72

Mike Green scored 73 in 65 games, and 76 in 75 games in consecutive years.

Every single time Bergeron plays against the best, he wins he matchup. He will shut your guy down, and score on you (see 2013 Pittsburgh)

Bergeron without hesitation.

Bruins, Hawks and Kings have won enough cups for me to believe that a Selke caliber 1C is more valuable than anything for a playoffs run.

Yeah, it's not that those teams had guys like Keith, DD or Chara anchoring the backend. And had all three contribute more than the respective centermen.

This season, Bergeron.

But if you have Karlsson on his game I'd maybe take like 2 players in the NHL over him at that point. Most didn't watch him in their conference final run, closest to Pronger levels of playoff domination I've seen since 05-06

Bergeron's more valuable right now.

Karlsson's not at his best.

Bergeron is certainly more consistent, but with the caveat of "at their best" it's EK by a mile.

There's like 2/3 guys in the league who are better than EK at his very best and as good as Bergeron's two-way game is he's not one of them.

Man, as a Habs fan I've hated a whole lot on Karlsson during the height of the rivalry between 2012 and 2016, but he's getting the short-end of the stick ever seen he was traded from Ottawa. He gets absolutely no respect. At his best, Karlsson is somewhere along the lines of Crosby/McDavid good. He crushes Bergeron, who is not an elite offensive producer when he's not paired with two top 5 wingers.

Rielly and Green ? Get out of here.

Might as well compare Bergeron to Jordan Staal and Philip Danault then.

Erik Karlsson.

Sharks have not been the same team since he got injured. Bruins continue to win games when Bergy gets injured.

EK's defense is criminally underrated the past few years and Bergeron needs 2 100 point calibre wingers to put up 70?

Those aren't peers.

Burns is the only one remotely close, and despite Burns having a better season (staying healthy helps), Karlsson is better.

Rielly? Give me a break. Green? Nope.

Don't most Sharks fans think Burns is better this season?

Except that’s literally the exact opposite of what happened when Bergeron went up against Karlsson in 2017.
