I wonder what’s going on here in Kansas City?
The long-time GM Brent Theissen is out. Tad O’Had takes over as both HC and GM.
Lamar Hunt JR. got rid of his NAHL franchise rights and sold it to a group in Amarillo.
Now, the Blues schedule their preseason game for Independence, MO rather than T-Mobile Center, even though T-Mobile Center has an open date on that day.
It may be nothing, but it sure seems odd.

Every one of those decisions can be explained by the need for two businesses to cut costs after pandemic losses: Junior reduces KCM payroll by eliminating a high-paid staff member. Scouts franchise was generating zero revenue while incurring costs in building a new arena (wherever the heck that arena was gonna be). Cable Dahmer Arena is a cheaper alternative for the Blues to play a preseason game that would barely draw flies at a more expensive T-Mobile.

Good points, but, "draw flies" is a little harsh. While the NHL preseason games at T-Mobile (former Spring Center) don't sell 17K, the games do draw 12K (they usually curtain off the upper decks or upper ends).
I guess the guy who is always pushing for KC to have an NHL team will finally get his preseason sell out. LOL
Press conference today at 11A. There will probably be a "spin", but the real reason is probably nothing more than your post.

Primary purpose of the presser was for Junior to announce that "two of the premier NFL ... sorry, NHL ... teams" would play a pre-season game @ CDA. Tickets available "mid to late August." Ho-hum.
