Career wise? Kane.

Right now? Marchand given his complete game and the fact he outproduced Kane last year and so far this year is playing at a better PPG.

This is the answer. Marchand is the perfect player currently, albeit undersized. Kane of course has had the better career.

Kane is still as good as he’s ever been.

And during the period of time you’re talking about where Marchand has outproduced him(barely)....Kane has had a constant revolving door of linemates, many of them rookies/random plug-ins. Meanwhile Marchand has been playing on the best line in the league/with 2 other elite players. This MUST be taken into account when discussing their production over recent years. Can u imagine Kane with Pasta and Bergeron?

Marchand scores just as much (or more recently) and is one of the best 3 zone forwards in the league and possibly the best penalty killing forward in the league. Not sure how it can be Kane given their actual play and stats, but perhaps the board doesn't put any value on defensive play.

The linemate argument for Marchand also makes no sense to me, his production increases when either Pasta or Bergeron are injured (yes even if they both are out at the same time).

Marchand is generally the best player on the ice in just about every game he plays these days.
