The fact that Hertl might hold strict to his three team list makes me much more interested in extending him. If hes only willing to go to like one contender, I cant see us getting anywhere near the value we deserve for him so id rather resign and try to trade later with better leverage or just wait.

When you weigh the pro's and cons of keeping Hertl, I think it's in his best interest and ours to trade him. Love the guy. Hes a beauty. Its just one of those really gut wrenching situations where you have to do whats necessary to stock the cupboard for the future of this franchise. If you can get multiple valuable assets for one very valuable asset, I think you do it. There's risk involved either way. We're just not going anywhere with this current crop of players even with Tomas.
