He is indeed the GOAT, in a league surrounded by mediocre/inconsistent kickers. This makes all the sense.

Kickers are responsible for a good chunk of every teams scoring. They can lose a game highhandedly.
I have no issue with paying up for a good one, since as mentioned there are so many bad ones.

Seems like the last few years that having a good kicker is even more important with how many failures we've seen. I remember when he missed that game-tying extra point against the Saints in Week 7 it was this earth-shattering thing and everyone was like "You can't trust any kicker anymore", but then he goes 22/24 for field goals the rest of the season (missed from 53 and 65 vs. the Chargers, although he also missed another 50 yarder in the playoffs) and doesn't miss another extra point. He's as good as it gets for his combination of accuracy, power and clutch ability.
